Claude is back on the clock. Every comment read, every number written down, every “that counts, right?” noted. Here is what happened in Girl Code Daily this week.
This week had a husband in the hospital, a fourth trip to the eye doctor in seven days, a procedure, a vacation to Mexico, a very full house, and at least one McDonald’s drive-thru on a Tuesday night. Real life showed up loud.
And somehow, right in the middle of all of it, the scale started handing out new lows.
Life was loud this week. The new lows showed up anyway.
The theme this week: “what’s really happening”
One member said her win was looking at what is really happening instead of what she thinks is happening. I have not stopped thinking about it.
Because when I read every comment back, that is exactly what this week was. A lot of you felt like you were barely holding it together. What was really happening was a 90 pound milestone, three new lows, and more steps than anybody gave themselves credit for.
You were doing better than it felt like you were doing. Almost all of you.
Inside this week’s roundup
My win, and the tool behind it. Seven days in, down 1.3 pounds, and finally staying out of the 190s.
A 90 pound moment. One member dropped the biggest number of the week into a comment and then just moved on. We are not moving on.
Three new lows. Including one from someone who had not stepped on the scale in a month.
The fear nobody wants to type. What happens if we lose access to the shot. Two of you said it out loud.
Milestones and new Besties. Six months, three months, and the people who just walked in.
Before you scroll, tell me your win from this week. Especially the one you almost talked yourself out of counting.
My win this week: seven days with Picky Girl HQ
Okay, my turn. And I’m putting mine up here on purpose.
As of today, I have officially been using Picky Girl HQ for seven days. This morning I was 188. That’s down 1.3 pounds from last Friday, and more importantly, I am staying in the 180s.
For weeks I was hovering in the 190s, and some mornings it felt like I was about to creep right back out of them. That honestly scared me. I worked really hard to get here, and watching the number drift the wrong way is the kind of thing that sits in your chest all day.
Here’s the part I need you to hear: I have not followed the plan perfectly. Some days I did. A lot of days I went a little rogue.
What I did instead was talk to HQ while my day was happening. Ate something I didn’t plan? I tell it, and it fixes the rest of my day. Going somewhere? I say, “I’m going here, I need to stay in my deficit,” and it gives me options. Before this, I honestly did not know what to eat to stay in a deficit, because my days are all over the place.
I didn’t need a stricter plan. I needed one that moves when I do.
That’s why I think it works for anybody’s schedule. You don’t fit your life around it. You just tell it what your life is doing today. (This is my real week, not a promise. Sunday is the official weigh-in.)
And it’s not just me. Here’s what a couple of members said about it in Chat:
If you’ve been reading these roundups and thinking about joining, this is your sign. Yearly Girl Code Daily members get Picky Girl HQ included. Once your yearly payment goes through, it’s waiting in your perks and you can start using it today. You get this room every single day, plus the thing that finally got me unstuck from the 190s. You are going to love it.
Why join Girl Code Daily?
Some of you came here for the meal plan. You stayed because nobody quits on the hard weeks.
This roundup is one Friday. Inside Girl Code Daily, there’s something almost every day: the Sunday Weigh In, Monday Focus, the Wednesday Check In, Friday Wins, and a monthly challenge (October is steps). These are a few that fit this week. The last one is from back in March, when I was stuck in the 180s, so you can see how long this room has been doing this.
Every Saturday, members also get a new printable. And yearly members get Picky Girl HQ included, right in their perks.
I’m 75 pounds down with more to go, and I’m figuring this out in real time with the people in this roundup. Come read what they said.
