I’m thinking about filming what I eat every single day until I reach my goal weight of 150 pounds, and I’m still trying to decide whether this is accountability or a terrible idea.
I have a friend, Dennis Sheridan, who photographed everything he ate. He then dropped it into AI and it figured out the calories. When he was finished eating, he took another picture and AI gave him the calories he had eaten... which was clearly not what the first picture showed. I'm pretty sure he used Gemini, but this could be figured out pretty easily... by asking Gemini! 🤪
I mention this because the photos might be easier to remember to take, easier to demonstrate online, and with AI, easier to see the calories and macros you are getting.
Here's my worry for you - I think you lost your 95 lbs doing it your way, in terms of eating kind of what you always had, but less. I have a few friends who have done this on their GLP-1 and lost all their weight, bless 'em. I don't have enough faith for that so went right into tracking every calorie and macro and really following rules.
That said, I worry that you get unhelpful comments (ok, downright snarky ones) and feedback on your meals. People are so friggin' judgy on this journey, I am still amazed after almost a year of doing this.
Would you only post on substack, where your community is hopefully so much more supportive and understanding??
One thing I have most appreciated about your posts and then this space is your frankness - you are one of us and you've achieved a lot but have stalls and dips and still a ways to go amid your very busy daily life and family. You deserve full grace and appreciation. I'd hate to see you walk into a buzzsaw of judgment!
Whatever you choose, your Girl Codies are here for you!
It doesn’t hurt to try it. If it becomes too much, try something else. If it helps you become more intentional and accountable, all good. You already know you can lose a significant amount of weight. The messy middle is just really hard. Give yourself the same grace you give all of us. I will watch the videos🥰
Ummm...eeeek. I think it sounds "good" until you actually have to do it every single day. Maybe start with filming to reach 10lb and then reassessing. I don't know. Sounds like self-inflicted torture! But obviously, do what you feel is right for you! I do like the idea of being more present.
