Reminders for June. For anyone Doing the Work Without Applause.
You are not behind. You are not failing. You are in it. And that counts.
You’ve been doing the work. Nobody’s been watching, nobody’s been clapping, and the scale may or may not have moved depending on the week. And some quiet part of you is starting to wonder if staying in it even counts when there’s no visible evidence that it’s adding up to anything real.
It counts. It has always counted.
I wrote these reminders for the version of you who is in the middle of it right now on a completely ordinary day. Not the version who has it figured out. Not the version who is thriving visibly in a way that photographs well. Just you, today, doing the work anyway, which is honestly the hardest version of this whole thing.
