What’s in this article:

  • Why we absorb other people’s timelines as our own and how to stop

  • How to actually talk to the people in your life who think you’re done

  • The difference between your body being done and your habits being done

  • What intentional maintenance preparation actually looks like when you ARE ready

  • The identity shift that happens when you stop losing and how to navigate it

  • How to stay motivated when the scale has been silent for months

  • A honest self assessment you can do this week

Before we get into it.

If you were at the Monday Meeting this week, you already know this topic hit different. And if you are reading this without watching, here is the quick version of what we were talking about.

I have been on my GLP-1 journey for over three years. I have lost 75 pounds. My goal weight is 140 pounds and I am currently sitting at 185. That means I still have 45 pounds to go.

And I have been in the 180s for over a year.

Because of that, people around me, including people who genuinely love me, have started to hint. Maybe this is where your body wants to be. Maybe you should just call maintenance. Maybe you’re done.

And this week I want to talk about why I am not. Why maintenance is not something that just happens to you. Why it is a deliberate choice. And more importantly, how to figure out whether the voice telling you to call it is actually yours or whether it belongs to someone else entirely.

Because I think a lot of women in this community are sitting in this exact question right now. Maybe the scale has been quiet for months. Maybe someone in your life has started to wonder out loud. Maybe you are starting to wonder yourself.

This post is for all of you.

Let’s get into it.

If you’ve ever had someone in your life hint that maybe you’re done, maybe this is just where your body wants to be, this post is going to feel like a exhale.

The full version gets into exactly how to tell if the voice telling you to call maintenance is actually yours. And if it’s not, what to do with that. There’s also an honest self assessment at the end that you can do this week, in your notes app, out loud, or in the comments.

If you’ve been sitting in this quietly, this one’s for you.
