When you’re just getting through it and that’s actually enough.

Watch This Week’s Vlog:

Day in the life, errands, the most chaotic moment at a red light, and a family that is very deep into squishy hunting right now.

This week was the crap zone. Full send, no apologies.

Someone told me this week that the crap zone sounds like depression and I want to be really clear about something: it is not. I know what depression feels like. I have been there. This is not that.

The crap zone is something different. It is the week where you are productive, you are showing up, you are genuinely okay, and also everything feels a little harder than it should and you are mostly just getting through. You are not drowning. You are not spiraling. You are just... in it. Head down, moving forward, not particularly loving the view right now.

I am happy. I am the furthest from depressed I have been in a while. My brain is moving, I am excited about the school year starting, I am ready for my kids to come back. And this week was still kind of crap. Both of those things are true at the same time and I think we need better language for that because collapsing it into depression does a disservice to both experiences.

The crap zone is not a clinical state. It is a human one. And I am in it.
