We signed a home contract this week.
New build. Dream house. The one that felt like us before I even let myself say that out loud. Six months until we move in and I have wanted it for longer than I am going to admit here.
We also sat down and did the math. All of it. Every number. Laid it out flat on the table and looked at it.
$165,000 in debt. (80k is student loans).
I am saying that number out loud because I think a lot of you are sitting on a number you have not said out loud yet. A scale number, a bank account number, a number of days since you went to the gym. And sometimes it helps to watch someone else go first.
So. $165,000. Dream house. Six months. Every dollar I make right now has somewhere to be and I know exactly where it is going.
It has been a week.
