187.

That was the number on my scale Saturday morning, and it means I'm down 1.9 pounds this week. I'm rounding that up to two in my head and nobody can stop me.

If you've been around for a while, you know why I'm making such a big deal out of this. I don't really get two-pound weeks anymore. For a long time my weeks have looked like up a little, down a little, hovering in the same few pounds and telling myself something was happening underneath even when the scale wasn't showing it. So seeing almost two pounds come off in one week honestly feels a little unreal.

Quick note on timing: I'm writing this Saturday night, so 187 is my Saturday number. I have no idea what tomorrow's scale is going to say, so I'll drop my Sunday morning number in the comments once I weigh in.

Almost two pounds in one week. If you know me, you know that doesn't happen.

The night I almost ordered fast food

Here's the part I really want you to hear, because the number isn't the whole story.

My husband has been house sitting the last two nights, so it's been me and the kids, and I don't know what it is, but when he's not home they lose their minds. He's definitely the disciplinarian in our house. When it's just me, I get a little more easygoing. They take over the living room, they take over the TV, and it's all fine until suddenly it is very much not fine. By tonight everyone was completely over the top and I was so overstimulated I couldn't think straight.

And I wanted fast food so badly. Not because I was starving, but because I could not make one more decision.

I didn't need more willpower. I needed something else to do the thinking for me.

So I asked Picky Girl HQ for something super easy in the air fryer. Then I changed my mind about four times, and it rolled with every single one. I ended up with air fryer nachos in about four minutes, and I still finished the day under my calories. For me, that's the whole reason this week looks the way it does.

Why I keep saying HQ is the reason

I know I talk about HQ a lot. I'm going to keep doing it, because I genuinely don't know how else to get across how much it's changing my weeks.

It's keeping me in a deficit without me having to plan every meal, and when the plan falls apart (which, hello, it does), it fixes the rest of my day instead of letting one off moment turn into a whole off week. Nights like tonight used to be the nights that undid my progress. This week, one of them didn't.

Nights like tonight used to undo my progress. This week, one of them didn't.

It's worth the money, and it's worth the upgrade. I really mean that. If you're on monthly or free right now, HQ comes with a yearly membership, and you can grab it from your perks the minute you upgrade.

Inside this thread:

  • My whole Saturday, meal by meal, including the plan I didn't follow and the four times I changed my mind about dinner.

  • The exact thing to type into HQ tonight when you don't want to cook and don't want the drive-thru either.

  • How I wrote this entire post lying down, and what that has to do with you.

  • Your weigh-in. Drop your number, or don't. Either way, I want to hear about your week.

Founders, we're meeting at 9 a.m.

If you're a founding member, our founders meeting is this morning at 9 a.m. Arizona time, two hours after this post goes live. I'll post the link in the founders chat, so check there before nine.

Want to be a founder? It's just an upgrade from the plan you're already on. Go to your account page, upgrade to founding, and you'll be in the chat for the next one.

And if you're on monthly, one thing to know: HQ comes with yearly, not monthly. You can upgrade to yearly the exact same way, then open your perks menu and grab HQ right there. If this week is any proof, it's worth it.

Go yearly and Picky Girl HQ comes with it. Once you're in, head to your perks, grab it, and use it tonight.

I didn't order the fast food. Come see what I ate instead.
