Monday is always optimistic.
You make the plan. You decide what you’re going to focus on. You picture the week going exactly the way you want it to, and for about twelve minutes, it feels very reasonable to believe that this time you are going to execute all of it perfectly.
Then Tuesday happens.
Real life gets involved. You’re tired. Something takes longer than it was supposed to. You forget the water bottle. Dinner isn’t what you planned. You don’t get the walk in. You stay up too late. Or you do everything you said you were going to do and realize that it actually felt pretty good.
Wednesday is where I like to check the difference between what we intended to do and what we’re actually doing.
Because the point of these check-ins has never been to prove that we had a perfect week. It’s to notice what is happening while we’re in it.
This week I’m trying something new myself.
