There are certain things that become much easier to do when someone else tells you to do them, and tracking is apparently not one of those things. I had to laugh reading through Monday’s comments because there was a very clear collective feeling of, Ugh. Fine. I know this would probably help me, so I guess we’re doing this.
And honestly, I get it. Tracking food is not exactly the glamorous part of a weight loss journey. Nobody wakes up thinking, I cannot wait to spend part of my morning documenting those two cookies.
But what I really loved about this week’s responses is that nobody was approaching tracking in exactly the same way. Some of you are tracking because you know that when you stop, you start losing your footing.
Others are tracking because the scale has started creeping up and you’re noticing little bites and nibbles that weren’t necessarily part of your plan.
Some are paying attention to protein, some to water, some to overall intake, and some are deliberately trying to keep tracking casual enough that it gives you information without taking over your brain.
The goal isn’t necessarily to track everything forever. The goal is to know what is actually happening.
