I'm still deciding what to tell people if they start asking. Right now only my husband and best friend who's also on a GLP-1 know. My parents have started noticing the weightloss and just assume I'm being careful about what I'm eating which is technically true.
But next week will be the first time I travel with my GLP medication, I'll be staying at my in-laws house for a night where I'll have to store my medicine in their fridge for the night then repack it for a 10 day cruise with them. There's a good chance the won't even notice but it is something I'm thinking about.
I think it's completely okay to decide in the moment. You don't owe anyone an explanation. If someone asks, you get to choose how much, or how little, you want to share. Wishing you the best on the bar exam and have an amazing cruise! 10 days is so cool!! We will be heading on a cruise next October!!
This one is going in my back pocket. When people ask what I’m doing, I tell them I’m on the BritePear metabolic health protocol. Full stop. It’s true, it sounds official because it is, and it ends the conversation before it becomes a debate I never agreed to have. What you named about the fawn response explains something I didn’t have language for. The peace really is on the other side of stopping.
The biggest gift is realizing we don't have to defend our health decisions to everyone who asks. I'm so glad this gave language to something you'd already been experiencing.
I am lucky. I do not feel the need to explain. It is my life and health and is not anyone’s business. My family is aware but I do not share with others.

I may be an over explainer. 🤣

I love your confidence! Not everything needs to be explained or justified.
