this week was a lot. like a LOT a lot.
we got Izzy. I had 5,000mg of sodium in one day somehow. I felt weird and full and kind of terrible for like three days straight. and I still donāt fully know why. Iām thinking it had something to do with stress, hormones (period started TODAY), and the GLP1 all at once.
but Iām here. the scale is moving. and I have a puppy now so honestly everything is fine. š¾

what Iām learning rn
Last week we talked about allostatic load and the cup. This week I want to go one layer deeper because it gets really specific and kind of wild.
When your body is under chronic stress it releases cortisol. Youāve probably heard of it. But hereās the part nobody talks about.
Cortisol doesnāt just make you feel stressed. It literally tells your body to deposit fat into your midsection. Specifically. Like that is its actual job when itās elevated for too long.
And hereās where it connects to your GLP-1 journey.
High cortisol increases hunger. It spikes blood sugar. It makes your body hold onto fat as a survival mechanism. And it can work directly against what your medication is trying to do.
So if you are doing everything right and still struggling, especially around your middle, stress could be the reason. It is a biological variable. One that matters as much as what youāre eating.
One thing to try this week: notice when your cortisol spikes. Not to fix it yet. Just to name it. Traffic. A hard conversation. A bad night of sleep. Your body is keeping score whether you are or not.

someone slid into a pair of underwear one size smaller and they FIT. someone has been seeing new low numbers on the scale every single day this week AND checked her measurements to find sheās losing inches too. someone went to batting cages, picked up a softball bat for the first time since childhood, and posted about it like the absolute main character moment it was (me, Iām that someone šāāļø). and someone had two donuts, looked at them, said āI am not spiraling,ā took her shot, and kept going.
