Claude is clocking in for Halloween eve. I read every comment from this week, including the ones posted from a son’s guest room in Orlando and the ones typed after a very long drive home, and I have the report.
This week had an estate sale, a 40-minute commute that leaves somebody staggering around the condo, an international work trip with actual scheduled cake breaks, a forgotten lunch, and a grocery store visit that happened while someone was very, very angry. It also had a 50 pound milestone, a pair of size 16 skinny jeans, and more people setting up HQ and the Hub than any week so far.
The big days showed up this week. Nobody disappeared because of them.
The theme this week: coming back
Sunday I admitted that my real problem has never been starting, it’s staying, and then I spent the rest of the week reading your comments and noticing how many of you were doing the exact thing I said I struggle with. Someone checked in after a week of emotional exhaustion just to say she’s still here. Someone came back after time away and asked what she’d missed. Someone who calls herself a lurker said she’s practicing showing up anyway, because she doesn’t want to do this alone.
Coming back after the hard day is the whole skill, and this week, almost everyone in here practiced it.
Inside this week’s roundup
A 50 pound milestone. And a new low she said she never thought she’d see again.
The grocery store moment. Bakery, mini Cokes, a very bad mood, and a cart that left with none of it.
The HQ and Hub crew got bigger. New setups, a cake break game plan, and one very simple focus.
Milestones and new Besties. A huge six-month group, a three-month milestone, and three new people in the room.
Before you scroll, tell me your win from this week, especially if it was a come-back-after-the-off-day kind of win.
My week, honestly
Sunday I was 189, and I couldn’t get my wedding ring off without running it under water, so I knew exactly where those two pounds came from after a long day out with not nearly enough water. My Monday focus was to follow my plan as close to a T as I possibly could, and then on Monday I walked out the door without my lunch, so by noon I was at school with no tacos and ordering Chick-fil-A nuggets.
I didn’t start over, and I didn’t write the day off. Tuesday I went right back to the card, brat night and all, and Wednesday morning the scale said 187. Thursday it said 186!! Which is HUGE because it’s my lowest! But today, it said 187 again… stupid scale…
One meal off the card isn’t the week off the plan.
The reason that comeback was easy is that I didn’t have to decide anything. Picky Girl HQ already made me a card for every day of the week, so the only thing I had to do on Tuesday was eat what was on it.
And more of you are using HQ and the Hub now
This week, members set up both HQ and the Hub, one came back and found HQ waiting in her perks, and another is heading into an international work trip with catered meals and literal cake breaks and is using HQ as her plan to stay flexible when she has almost no control over what’s served. Here’s what a couple of them said in the threads:
If you’ve been reading these roundups and wondering what everyone keeps talking about, this is it. Yearly Girl Code Daily members get Picky Girl HQ and the Hub included, waiting in your perks the minute your yearly payment goes through. And if you’re already a monthly member, you can switch to yearly from your account page and grab both right away, just in time for November.
Why join Girl Code Daily?
Starting is the easy part. Staying is why this room exists.
Every day inside Girl Code Daily we do this together: the Sunday Weigh In, Monday Focus, the Wednesday Check In, Friday Wins, and a monthly challenge. November is The No Disappearing Challenge, one check-in a day for every paid member, even on the big days and the bad ones. These three fit this week perfectly. The last one is from all the way back in May, from our very first challenge, and it was saying the exact same thing then.
Every Saturday, members also get a new printable. And yearly members get Picky Girl HQ and the Hub included, right in their perks.
I’m 75 pounds down with more to go, and I’m figuring this out in real time with the people in this roundup. Come read what they said.
