190.1.
That’s the number this morning. Day one of my period, full-on cramps, the whole thing.
And I’m actually happy about it.
Yesterday I was 189. I’ve been hovering between 188 and 191 for a while now. So when I stepped on the scale with cramps and saw 190.1, my first thought wasn’t “ugh.” It was that’s it?
My period showed up and the scale barely flinched.
I’ll take that.
If you’ve been doing this long enough, you know what period week can do. Water, bloat, cravings, the scale doing whatever it wants. Going up a pound the day it starts isn’t fat. It’s my body doing a normal body thing. The fact that it stayed inside my usual range tells me what I’m doing is working, even on a week where the scale can’t show it.
And honestly, what I’m doing right now is the thing I’m most excited to tell you about.
The last 40 pounds needed a different plan
I’ve lost over 75 pounds. I have about 40 to go. And I’m not going to pretend the last stretch feels like the first. It doesn’t.
It’s not that I don’t know what to eat. It’s that I’m picky, I hate planning, and every meal plan I’ve ever tried was full of food I won’t touch. I’d make it two days and quit.
So I started letting AI plan my meals. Using only food I actually like. Every single day, until I hit my goal weight.
And everything I built to do that is now one thing.
Picky Girl HQ is officially here
HQ lives in Claude, and it feels like texting a friend who already knows what you’ll eat and what you would rather die than eat. You just talk to it. Out loud, if you want.
Here’s what’s inside:
It learns you, one question at a time. Your foods, your hard no’s, your textures, your sauce. No giant quiz. Say “ew.” It counts.
Your numbers, built in. It helps you find a starting point for protein, calories, and fiber, or you use the numbers you already have. You pick how much you want to track, from nothing at all to everything.
“Plan my week.” Your whole week in one ask, built around your real life. Practice nights, takeout nights, pizza night. Every meal with calories, protein, and fiber, plus a shopping list sorted by aisle with prices, all in one printable.
“HQ, good morning.” A morning check-in that fixes today when life happens. Ate something that wasn’t on the plan? Out of an ingredient? Tell it, and it rebalances the rest of your day.
“I’m hungry” and “I’m going to [place].” A few options you’ll actually eat right now, or what to order when you’re already in the drive-thru line.
“Decide for me” and “make it healthier.” For when nothing sounds good, and for better versions of the foods you already love.
“Give me a workout.” It asks where you are and how much time you have, then gives you something you’ll actually do. Home, gym, ten minutes, whatever you’ve got.
“I need to talk.” Scale days, stalls, food noise, feeling behind. Somewhere to talk it out at 9pm when nobody else gets it.
“Finish my day” and “make it printable.” A kind wrap-up of how today went, and any plan or list turned into a PDF.
Plus my 91-page Picky Girl’s (Lazy) Guide to Healthy Eating as a bonus, and a Setup Guide that walks you through getting it running step by step. And it works on a free Claude account. You don’t need to pay for anything else.
I don’t have to be perfect. I just have to keep it in the loop.
