The menu said one bratwurst.
I ate two.
Not in a dramatic, emotional, “the day got away from me” way. I just read the menu wrong. I looked at it, saw bratwurst, made bratwurst, ate bratwurst, and only later realized the plan said one. So Monday landed somewhere close to 1,900 calories, on a week where my number is 1,650.
Old me would have taken that as proof the whole week was already ruined and quietly penciled in a restart for next Monday.
But on Monday I told you I was focusing on the average this week. Not the perfect day. The average. And this is exactly the moment that focus was built for.
Here’s what the average actually did
One high day isn’t a ruined week. It’s just one number inside seven.
Sunday: about 1,400
Monday: close to 1,900 (the bratwurst incident)
Tuesday: around 1,400
Put those three together and I’m still under 1,650 on average. The high day didn’t erase anything. It just got absorbed.
A high day doesn’t need a punishment day. It needs a normal one.
That’s the whole reason I like the average. It gives a messy day somewhere to land that isn’t “start over.”

The walking pad, honestly. I promised you the truth on Wednesday even if it wasn’t great. It’s not great.
