Today was Day 2 of No Ghosting November, and the challenge chat is already filling up with check-ins. So my Monday focus this week is the simplest one I've ever picked, and honestly the one I need the most: check in every single day this week, even when the day isn't pretty.
Last Sunday I admitted that my real problem isn't starting, it's staying, and that I tend to go quiet the second a day gets messy. Then this week I forgot my lunch on the very first school day, ate Chick-fil-A nuggets, and went right back to the plan on Tuesday, and the scale still moved. Nothing about that week was perfect. What made the difference was that I didn't disappear after the messy part.
You don't have to have a good day to check in. You just have to show up.
A check-in doesn't have to be impressive
I think a lot of us only want to check in when we have something good to report, a new low, a perfect day, all our protein, a walk we're proud of. And then when the day goes sideways, we stay quiet, and one quiet day turns into three, and suddenly it feels too awkward to come back. That's the ghosting I'm trying to stop, and it's exactly why this whole month is built around one check-in a day instead of one perfect day.
This week, any of these count:
The great day. You hit your plan, your steps, your protein, and you want to tell somebody.
The messy day. You forgot your lunch, ate the nuggets, and you're telling us anyway.
The "not today, but I'm here" day. No details, no explaining, just letting us know you didn't disappear.
A "not today, but I'm here" counts exactly as much as a great day. That's the whole point.
My week, already decided
Picky Girl HQ already built my whole week around what I shopped for, so I'm not deciding dinner at five o'clock when I'm tired. Here's the whole plan, recipes and shopping list included.
And it's a real week, not a quiet one. Monday is a school day, Tuesday is taco night, Wednesday is shot day with soccer practice and pizza night, Thursday is volleyball practice and my period may decide to show up, Friday is brat night, and Saturday is my weigh-in and meatball night. There's a check-in waiting for me on every single one of those days, including the ones I already know will be a lot.
Free subscribers, the challenge chat is open to you through Tuesday
If you're reading this on the free side, you can still jump into the No Ghosting November challenge chat and check in with us today and tomorrow. Starting Wednesday, Day 4, it goes back to paid members only, so this is your window to see what it actually feels like to have a whole group notice when you show up.
If you want to stay in it for the whole month, the yearly membership is $49, which works out to about $4.08 a month. That's Picky Girl HQ, the Hub, No Ghosting November, and every Sunday Weigh In, Monday Focus, Wednesday Check In, and Friday Wins, all year long. If you're already monthly, you can switch to yearly from your account page and grab HQ and the Hub from your perks right away.

Why join Girl Code Daily?
I don't need a perfect month. I need people who notice when I go quiet.
This Monday Focus is one post. Inside Girl Code Daily there's something almost every day: the Sunday Weigh In, Monday Focus, the Wednesday Check In, Friday Wins, a daily check-in all month long, and a chat full of women who notice when you disappear. Here are a few posts that fit this week, including one from early October that I think about a lot:
Go yearly for $49, about $4.08 a month, and Picky Girl HQ and the Hub both come with it, waiting in your perks the minute you upgrade.
